Overview
Hroptatyr — also known as "The Wise" — is one of Genshin Impact’s darker figures: an obsessed scientist from Khaenri’ah.
Who is Hroptatyr?
Hroptatyr was considered one of the greatest geniuses of Khaenri’ah. He researched and discovered the Curse of Immortality decades before the Cataclysm, which makes him central to understanding why Khaenri’ahn survivors live on under a curse.
The name comes from Hroptatýr, one of Odin’s names in Norse myth — consistent with Genshin’s Norse-inspired naming for Khaenri’ah.
